Our organization is firmly rooted in Christ-like solidarity with those who have been hurt the most. We prioritize relationships, centered on faith, that lead to long lasting change in individuals and our community of Rogers Park. From these relationships we build our programs to meet the real needs of our neighbors.
We work with children in extremely difficult home lives, many of whom have one or both parents out of the picture. The parents remaining struggle with gang and drug involvement, imprisonment, or the challenging task of raising several kids as a single parent with limited economic opportunity. The adult women we work with often lack support systems and opportunities to further their kids' opportunities.
In order to expand our work providing a safe and healthy environment for high-risk students to learn and grow spiritually, physically, educationally, and emotionally, we are requesting funds for our After-school Program. These funds will support more staff to serve more children throughout the school year, keeping them fed well, off the streets, and in good hands for their educational training. Funds will also support summer programs that offer a safe alternative while school is out.
